TIA (Transfer Impact Assessment)

A transfer impact assessment (TIA) is a documented assessment of whether transferring personal data outside the European Economic Area satisfies the requirements of GDPR Chapter V. The Schrems II ruling made TIAs effectively mandatory whenever Standard Contractual Clauses are used as the transfer mechanism. The European Data Protection Board's Recommendations 01/2020 set the standard methodology.
